Associate Veterinarian, Urgent Care
Dr. Santos-Melody graduated from Rutgers University in 2014 in Animal Science. She was lucky enough to continue her veterinary education at another Big Ten school and graduated from Purdue University in 2019.
Dr. Santos-Melody practiced at a busy small animal general practice for 2 years in which she discovered her love of working dogs since the practice worked closely with local police department dogs. Following this, Dr. Santos-Melody transitioned to relief work and traveled to several small animal hospitals in New Jersey practicing medicine and surgery. This is where she met the team at City By The Sea Veterinary Hospital and decided she didn’t want to leave!
Her interests include clinical pathology, physical rehabilitation, nutrition, and promoting diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine. Dr. Santos-Melody currently works in the urgent care department and is enjoying the challenging but rewarding caseload.
On her days off, she enjoys attending Pure Barre classes, cooking for family and friends, and exploring breweries with her husband and 3-year-old English Labrador Retriever “Wallace.”
